DID YOU KNOW…
"In 1966, a Granite Falls High School class studying the history of Granite Falls learned of an old tin box within the cornerstone of the town’s long-disused brick schoolhouse, which was being demolished to make way for a new medical clinic. Hoping that the box would offer insights into the community’s past, the students and many area residents expressed interest in the contents. The class organized ceremonial events to open the box and selected October 16th as “Railroad Day” as that was the anniversary of the first train to arrive in Granite Falls... The old tin box and its contents are on display at the Granite Falls Historical Museum."
