What is a "Poker Run"?

A Poker Run is an organized event where participants must visit five (or seven) checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. It is NOT a race. The event is not timed—winning is purely a matter of chance.

The Granite Falls Poker Run is one of the many events being held as part of Mountain Loop Experience II. Part of the fee goes to provide prizes for the event while the rest goes to support the work of the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce. A Prize will be awarded for the best hand and a smaller award for lowest hand.

There will also be a Poker Walk, which will work generally the same way, but participants will walk to Check Points scattered about the town.
