During the Granite Falls Chamber meeting on Tuesday evening, March 10, 2008 we welcomed representatives from Snohomish County to present the plan for the long-awaited alternate truck route. Project staff from Snohomish County Public Works gave a presentation and answered questions for 50 to 60 local residents and interested people.
The project involves construction of "Quarry Road" - a two-lane alternate truck route from Highway 92, West of Granite Falls, running North across Burn Road, West and North of the high school, East to the intersection of Jordan Road and Engebretsen Road, East along the north edge of the the housing area, and ending at Mountain Loop Highway. Three large "roundabouts" will be constructed at the intersections where the new Quarry Road meets Highway 92, Burn Road and Jordan Road.
Snohomish County has graciously provided the Chamber with a detailed graphic of the truck route map which was displayed during their presentation. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, select an option below to view the project map.
